Terms & Conditions — That Tax Place

Last updated: 6 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the That Tax Place website, client portal and related online services. By accessing the website or creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

Creating an account does not by itself create a professional client engagement. Professional services are subject to acceptance by That Tax Place and, where applicable, a separate Engagement Agreement.

These Terms are not intended to replace the formal client Engagement Agreement. The Engagement Agreement remains the document governing the detailed scope of professional tax/accounting work, fees, client responsibilities, outsourcing permissions, professional obligations and other engagement-specific terms.

1. About That Tax Place

That Tax Place Unit 4, 1 Lae Street, Beenleigh QLD 4207 Email: tax@thattaxplace.com.au Phone: 0411 124 113

That Tax Place is Grow My Wealth Pty Ltd ATF Freeman Family Trust (ABN 95 493 932 053), a registered tax agent (Registered Tax Agent No. 25595995). See our TPB Client Information page for registration details.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing the website, using the client portal, creating an account, or continuing to use the services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't create or continue using an account.

3. Account creation

You may be required to create an account to access certain portal functions. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • provide accurate and current information;
  • keep your contact details up to date;
  • keep your password and login credentials confidential;
  • not allow unauthorised people to use your account;
  • notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access; and
  • use the portal only for lawful purposes.

We may require identity verification before providing or continuing certain services. Creating an account does not guarantee that we will accept you as a client or accept a particular engagement.

4. Communication consent

By creating an account, you consent to That Tax Place contacting you by email, telephone, SMS or other contact method you provide where reasonably necessary to administer your account, respond to your enquiries, manage appointments, verify your identity, provide professional services or communicate with you about an existing or proposed engagement. This includes communications such as:

  • account and identity verification;
  • password resets and security notices;
  • appointment confirmations and reminders;
  • requests for information or documents;
  • status updates;
  • engagement documentation;
  • tax or accounting work being undertaken;
  • outstanding actions or signatures;
  • service-related notifications; and
  • important practice or regulatory notices relevant to your engagement.

These are service and administrative communications and may be necessary for the operation of your account or delivery of services. You are responsible for keeping your contact details current.

5. Marketing communications

We may send you information about That Tax Place services where permitted by law. Where your consent is required for marketing communications, we will obtain that consent separately — creating an account is not, by itself, consent to receive marketing. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect your ability to receive essential account, security, appointment or engagement-related communications.

6. Appointments

Appointments may be booked through our online appointment system: thattaxplace.square.site. Square is used for appointment booking only. Booking an appointment does not necessarily create a formal professional engagement — professional services remain subject to That Tax Place accepting the engagement.

7. Professional services / Engagement Agreement

Where we agree to provide tax, accounting, bookkeeping or other professional services, those services may be subject to a separate Engagement Agreement. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and an Engagement Agreement in relation to professional services, the Engagement Agreement applies to the extent of that inconsistency. The Engagement Agreement may separately cover matters such as scope of work, fees, client responsibilities, professional authorisations, confidentiality, outsourcing, technology use, document retention, termination, and regulatory obligations.

8. Information provided by users

You must provide information that is complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge. We are entitled to rely on information you provide unless we have reason to believe otherwise, subject to our professional and legal obligations. Please notify us if your information changes, or if you become aware that something you supplied was incorrect.

9. Website information is general

Information published on this website is general in nature and does not take into account your individual circumstances. It should not be relied upon as personal taxation, accounting, legal or financial advice. Laws, ATO guidance and regulatory requirements may change — you should obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances before acting on general website information.

10. Client portal

Authorised users may use the client portal for functions made available by That Tax Place. The client portal may provide access to account information, forms, documents, communications and other functions made available by That Tax Place from time to time. You must not:

  • access another person's account without authority;
  • attempt to bypass security;
  • interfere with the website or portal;
  • upload malicious files or code;
  • use the service unlawfully; or
  • misrepresent your identity or authority.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect our systems and information, but no electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure. You must take reasonable steps to secure your own account and devices.

12. Privacy and confidentiality

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal and professional requirements. We are also subject to professional confidentiality obligations applicable to registered tax agents.

13. Third-party services

The website or practice may use or link to third-party platforms or service providers, such as appointment-booking systems, identity-verification providers, payment providers, cloud hosting, or accounting/practice-management systems. Those third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. This clause does not override our TPB confidentiality requirements — where your permission is legally or professionally required before disclosure to a third party, that permission is still obtained.

14. Confidentiality / TPB

That Tax Place is subject to professional confidentiality obligations applicable to registered tax agents. Client information will not be disclosed to a third party without appropriate authority or permission unless disclosure is permitted or required by law. See our TPB Client Information page.

15. Intellectual property

Website content, branding, design, software and materials are owned by or licensed to That Tax Place unless otherwise indicated. You may use information for ordinary personal purposes but must not reproduce, commercialise, scrape, reverse engineer or misuse protected content or software except where legally permitted. Nothing in this clause affects ownership of material belonging to clients.

16. Availability and changes

The website or portal may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, upgrades or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We may update functionality from time to time. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted availability.

17. Suspension or termination of accounts

We may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary, including for security concerns, suspected unauthorised access, unlawful or abusive use, false identity information, material breach of these Terms, regulatory or legal requirements, or termination or refusal of an engagement. This does not remove any legal rights you may have.

18. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, That Tax Place is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or portal, except where that liability cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

19. Links to other websites

Links to external websites are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute endorsement. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time — the current version, with its effective date, is always available on the website. Where a change materially affects registered portal users, we may notify them through reasonable means.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
